Candle Care

Our candles are hand poured in Mattawan, MI and made with simple ingredients- 100% natural soy wax grown in the Midwest and U.S. grown hemp, a cotton-core wick, and premium phthalate-free fragrance oils.

Because our candles are made with Michigan soy wax and U.S. grown hemp, which is biodegradable as well as having a cleaner burn (less soot), there are some natural occurrences that may happen when burning this candle.

  • Frosting: A possible white coat that can appear on the top of the candles which is a perfectly natural effect of soy wax. This can occur with age so it is better to use the candle within one year.
  • Tunneling: We recommend that you burn the candle until the wax melts to the edge for the first burn. This avoids wasted wax and tunneling on the sides of the container. If you extinguish the candle before the melt pool reaches the edge, then every burn thereafter will only make it to the initial melt pool.

CANDLE SAFETY TIPS:

  • Place your candle on a heat and stain-resistant surface.
  • For best results, trim wicks to 1/4" before lighting, including each time the candle is lit.
  • For an even burn, we recommend that you burn the candle until the wax melts to the edge for the first burn. This avoids wasted wax and tunneling on the sides of the container. If you extinguish the candle before the melt pool reaches the edge, then every burn thereafter will only make it to the initial melt pool.
  • Never move a lit candle.
  • Never leave a lit candle unattended.
  • Burn 2-4 hours at a time and allow to cool completely before relighting.
  • Avoid use near vents or in drafty areas.
  • Always keep out of reach of children and pets.
  • Keep all objects, including matches and wick trimmings, out of the candle.
  • Always store the candle in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight.
  • Discontinue burning when 1/4" wax is left.
